Paint and the Great Find!

We have decided to paint a couple of the rooms prior to moving in simply because I can not stand the current colors. We went to Lowes on Saturday to pick out paint and get some house supplies we needed. After much debate we choose "Chalkware" for the Family Room which is currently painted what I call "Puck Plum"

The upstairs hall bath currently has yellow and white subway tile courtesy of the 70's. Although we are eventually going to gut the hall bath room (hopefully this fall) we wanted to paint it in hopes of disguising the yellow. Currently, the bathroom is painted a bright Sesame Street Yellow and we decided to go with very pale beige with a hint of yellow called "Cape Honey Flower".

While at Lowes we got some additional necessities as well as picked out the Grill we want! The one item that we know we need is a ladder. Which brings me to our Great Find.

We would like to get a big aluminum ladder eventually but for those of you who don’t know, these are extremely costly. So we decided to get a step ladder (6ft) to use for painting. After looking at Lowes the cost of these ladders are around 50 bucks! So we decided to wait. Sunday morning I woke up early to start packing and I looked out the window and noticed what appeared to be a ladder across the street at the Salvation Army (which is closed on Sundays). Every Sunday people drop off tons and tons of items that sit outside until they open Monday morning making all the donated items a free for all. Occasionally Mike and I will spot a good find and walk across the street to go get it. So back to Sunday morning, I woke Mike up and we walked across the street to check out the ladder. It was in fact a 6ftr wooden ladder that looked in great shape so we took it. So now we have a "new" ladder that cost us nothing! We were very please by our great find.
