For my birthday present Mike got me a make your own wine kit. We ventured to "Brew your own Beer" in Haverford, PA and picked out our wine kit. We then picked out the type of wine we are going to make. We chose a Pinot Noir. I must admit being 8 1/2 month pregnant we did get a funny look from the owner when we walked in and told him we wanted to get a wine kit :) But as I explained to him (and Mike) the wine wouldnt be ready for 4 months and by then I will be able to enjoy it! Mike and I debated for a while what we are going to call our Winery... we plan to make labels and make all different kinds of wine but we needed a name. We decided on Petrylak Poison. Petrylak Poison will feature different varieties of wine with the first release being a Pinot Noir (we are still working on what to call the Pinor Noir..stay tuned)

Last night we started Step One of our wine! It was a little more complicated then we thought it would be. But with some help from the inlaws (who make their own wine) we were able to successfully complete Part 1.

Oooooh, I will have to try some at Thanksgiving!
I'll be happy to try some of your wine when it is ready (I'll be ready then, too!)
Uncle Mike has been making wine for 6 years - our dock neighbors at the marina have named it Mike's Stupid Juice - because after a couple glasses you act stupid. Your mom likes it. He makes fruit wines - Concord Grape, Niagra Grape, Strawberry, Raspberry, Blackberry, Peach, and his newest concoction, AppleCherry which we just tried last weekend, He made that from AppleCherry cider. I did not like that one but the folks on the dock sure did!
