A weekend for baby Weston!

This past weekend, Mike and I drove to North Carolina to celebrate the upcoming arrival of our nephew, Weston, for a baby shower. Friday we left work around 1pm to drive to North Carolina, after a very long drive filled with lots of traffic and accidents we arrived at a Mexican restaurant, http://www.cafecapistrano.com/, in Cary around 10pm. After some great food and Margaritas we were relaxed after the drive. After dinner we checked into The Days Inn and went right to sleep. Saturday we drove to Karen’s house to prep the house for the surprise. My mom, Julie and Kelly arrived Saturday evening and we enjoyed Pizza, beer and the hangover (the movie!). Sunday was spent setting up for Karen’s Surprise Baby Shower. I believe she was surprised! We spent the day playing games, opening presents and eating food.

After the shower, we braved the 100 degree heat and headed home. We left around 4:30 thinking we'd be home around 12:00... which was not the case. After 95 went down to 1 lane, we didn’t arrive home close until 2:00am. We are exhausted today but had a very nice time visiting with family. Mike has vowed never to drive 95 again! We will have to find an alternate route to come see Karen, Clay and the baby when he arrives in late October.
