Over the past couple nights we thought we would do "the easy tasks". Which included replacing the basement door and frame (which looks like the previous owner slammed the door a little too hard too many times) and a couple sewing projects. Needless to say, taking down a door frame, putting it back on, redoing the modeling was not an easy task. Mike did not enjoy doing the "door work" but he kept motivated and finished it with perfection.

Our favorite part of the house has to be the pack covered deck. Since we moved in we have wanted 2 wicker chairs and a table. However, these items proved to be rather expensive (Home Depot - $350.00 which wasn’t even comfortable!). So I thought I can do better than that. I found two chairs at Kohls.com which cost me a total of $168.00 including shipping. I then found a table I liked from Target.com which cost me $28.00 after my gift card (Thanks Karen!). The chairs were very comfortable but the cushions were cream which I found boring. So for 20.00 a decided I could sew cushion covers, I mean how hard can it be? Well... sewing is not easy! I opened my sewing machine for the first time and it took a little over two hours to set it up. All of the directions were little 2X2 pictures with no words... not the easiest task since I have never sewed before. Two days later, we have a nice patio set which costs us 216.00 (a savings of $134.00.
I then decided to sew a piano cover to match the living room. Which was not as hard as the cushion covers but again no easy task. I dont think I care much for sewing.

I am officially jealous. Why do you have a piano and not me?!? :) The place looks great, we can't wait to see it!
The cushions look great! I love the comparison price shopping on the patios stuff.! Mike, "Master of Doors".
