This past weekend we traveled to DC to visit with my sister and her family. Her husband, Clay, was on business in DC which made a great excuse to get together. The boys enjoyed their time together and played well for the most part (aside from a biting incident that left Weston bruised and Mikey in timeout). The boys watched airplanes, played with cars and enjoyed each other company. It was nice to get to visit with them as we only see them a few times a year. Luckily, in a few weeks we will get to see them again when we all venture to northern Michigan to spend a week on Glen Lake. It’s so fun to watch the boys play together and I definitely think they will be good friends for years to come. On Friday night after we arrived we went into to Alexandria for dinner at Columbia Firehouse. Much to Mikes delight it was a diners, drive-ins and dives spot. Mike is already researching for the next trip as he loves vising anywhere that is featured on this show. We were lucky enough to get to stay at the Boling Air Force base. It was a beautiful base complete with many playgrounds and a champagne Sunday brunch (which for the record has the best Eggs Benedict I ever had). On Saturday we took the boys into the city to go to the Museum of Natural History. The boys loved the dinosaur exhibit. Saturday night we relaxed at an old co-works of Clays for a backyard BBQ. Thank you to Karen and Clay for the great weekend and we are looking forward to hanging out in a couple of weeks!

Clarkston, Mi has The Union Wood Shop as seen on DD&D - very good and fairly close to Miloford if you will be at your g-ma's. Noted for their smoked meats and Mac N Cheese!!!
