After painting the master bedroom, I have moved onto the guest room. This room has been the most challenging in terms of paint color. I have spent three weeks going to several different stores to pick up paint swatches, After much debate, I finally choose a color. However, the color was with Home Depots New
BEHR PREMIUM PLUS ULTRA paint. This paint includes a primer! I was skeptical about purchasing as it was 11.00 dollars more per gallon that the traditional New BEHR PREMIUM PLUS paint but I loved the color and didn’t want to take the chance of matching it with another paint brand. I am a strong believer in priming walls. I have primered (using
KILLZ 2) every wall prior to painting and have been very pleased with the results! However, primering takes more time. It takes one additional day. I have been on the schedule of painting/prepping during the week. Monday night = Blue tape room, Tuesday night = primer, Wednesday night = paint coat 1, Thursday night = paint coat 2, Friday night = remove blue tape from molding and applying blue tape to walls to prep for the molding painting, Saturday = paint molding and remove all tape, Sunday = Eagles (we have a no work policy). Well since the paint already had primer in it I got to paint last night. I am very pleased with the product and I could probably get away with not painting a 2nd coat. But like the primer, I am a firm believe in 2nd coats. Once I am completely finished the room (my calculations show Saturday). I will post pictures of the final result as well as my final review of paint with primer!
