Saturday night after a long day of running errands and an afternoon nap, I woke up to nice a fire Mike had built. We were watching TV next to the fire place when out of no where something flew out of the fire. I screamed "Oh my god is a bird"... Mike said "Holy S**t is a bat".... well after it flew around the family room and posted itself on top of the refrigerator we could tell it was an owl. A baby owl. Mike had pulled the cabniet out earlier in the day to build my wine rack and the owl decided it was going to post up there. I was afraid the owl and gotten burnt while flying through an open flame fire. Luckily the owl appeared fine, terrified but fine. After much debating and laughing, Mike decided to put on gloves and grab the owl. He was able to successfully catch the owl and place him outside the front door. The owl hung out on our front stop for a while before flying away into the night. Mike and I will probably laugh about this for a very long time. We are both glad the owl was alive and unharmed and we both agreed we were glad the other was home. Could you imagine if I was sitting there by myself and an owl flew into our house?

I don't want to think what J and I would have done if we were in your position. Picking the thing up is probably the LAST thing we would consider :-)
BRAVO to your pioneer spirit! A much better story than one abut a bat!
What a "hoot" Great pictures!
Dad
I would have been more impressed if he would have starting singing The Who's "Who are you? Who? Who?"
